At Akaishi, we believe our commitment to customer satisfaction
is the result of our continuous fundamental studies in
orthopedics, biomechanics, footwear ergonomics, and consumers'
lifestyle, along with repeated scientific tests during
the process of product development.
Our fundamental studies are under the directions of professionals
from wide range of fields, including university professors,
orthopedists, and prosthetists. Through these professionals,
we continue to cultivate our knowledge in basic theories
of foot care to practical skills that can be observed
in everyday medical scenes. Also, with the principal of
free and unrestrained mind, not to be caught by preconceived
ideas, our product development team is in constant pursuit
of innovative products to satisfy our customers' latent
needs. It is the combination of resources from our professionals
and the passion from our development team that new ideas
are born every day.

As our newly born ideas take shape as trial models,
they are put through stages of different scientific and
functional monitored tests and careful inspections. For
instance, with Archfitter series, various tests have been
conducted, including measuring the amount of leg muscle
activities, oxygen intake, pressures and forces applied
on feet, angles of leg joints, and stability and center
of gravity while in normal standing position. Not only
are our data objectively verified, we also conduct subjective
tests to take into account the psychological viewpoints
and allow all the effects to be exposed and experienced.

The results of our studies indicate that 90% of Japanese
working women have problems with their feet, 70% of Japanese
are bowlegged, and 2% of Japanese elementary school girls
have hallux valgus. There are plenty more data to indicate
that the condition of Japanese' feet are in jeopardy.
In response to these numbers, we believe it is our mission
to communicate the importance of healthy feet to consumers
through our foot care products. Hence, the core function
of our brand FootOne & ArchFitter is to essentially improve feet of
those who are in need.
One of the solutions is arch care. Many of foot problems
are caused by falling of the framework of foot, also known
as the arch. In order to be familiar with various arches,
our product development team performs footcare counseling
at various stores on a regular basis, and has collected
numerous footprints of all shapes and sizes. Such tasks
have been useful in figuring out the average position
and height of our arch support products. The perfect fitting
of our Archfitters praised by hundreds of its users is
truly the fruit of these long and dedicated researches.
Along with arch support, gait correction is also our
big theme. For instance, with the concept of bowleg correction,
we have repeatedly made test models and performed experiments
to figure out a way to readjust the center of gravity
applied on the exterior of the foot during a normal walk.
The result is our Archfitter Balance, a sandal that positions
the center of gravity at the correct points of the foot
during a walk.
